Festive Fun! Here are Sioux Falls Top 5 Christmas Light Displays
It's the most wonderful time of the year, or so they say.
As crazy as it may seem, the Christmas season is upon us again, which means it's time for many folks around the Sioux Empire to begin their annual quest to see who can come the closest to getting their home to resemble Clark W. Griswold's from the motion picture "Christmas Vacation."
Please tell me you remember Clark's house, right, the one decked out in 25,000 Italian Twinkle Lights? Legend has it, that it's the only home that can be seen from 250 miles above the Earth on the International Space Station.
If you happen to be like Clark, and like to showcase your exterior illumination skills this time of year, or perhaps you're the type of person who's just a Christmas lights lover and prefers the role of being a spectator, Sioux Falls has plenty of decked-out holiday homes and lanes that come close to giving Clark's a run for the money.
According to the website JoshHayes605.com here are what's considered to be the Top 5 Christmas Light displays throughout the Sioux Empire.
It should be known there are several spectacular-looking lanes, holiday-themed displays, and holiday-decorated homes not mentioned in this article that can be found in and around Sioux Falls.
You can find the location of a great majority of them here in this Christmas Lights Guide.
Now for the Top 5:
5. Santa's Sleigh: located at 600 South Edward Drive.
4. Polar Bear Lane: located at 207 North Penstemon Ave.
3. Candy Cane Lane: located at 840 South Day Ave.
2. Washington Pavilion Tree: located at 236 South Main Ave.
1. Winter Wonderland at Falls Park: located at 900 North Phillips Ave.
Merry Christmas and Happy Holiday's everyone!
I leave you with the immortal words of Clark W. Griswold himself, "We're all gonna have the hap-hap-happiest Christmas since Bing Crosby tapdanced with Danny-f—cking-Kaye."
