We already know that Sioux Falls is on this Livability list of Best Places to Live in the Midwest in 17th place and on the Best Places to Live in the U.S. list at number 38. But what about our neighbors to the east and northeast?

Three Minnesota cities show up on the Livability radar for a number of reasons.

Ranking high on the list in third place is Rochester, Minnesota. Livability mentioned that this mid-sized city is always "brewing with excitement". They added that Rochester had "beautiful Midwest scenery", a huge art and fine-dining scene, as well as a thriving food truck community, breweries, wineries, and more.

They found endless employment opportunities with employers like the Mayo Clinic and IBM in the Rochester area. Affordable housing was also a big plus for this medium-sized midwest city.

Next, (and not surprisingly) Minneapolis shows up in 6th place. You might be wondering if Minneapolis qualifies as a mid-sized city, but with a population of right around 425,000- - it does.

The top reason this Minnesota city is on this "most livable list" is thanks to its "innovative economy". Meaning, it has a wide variety of industries. They also mentioned the 22 lakes within the city limits, beautiful waterfalls, a thriving art and food scene, and an extraordinary park system, making the city super family-friendly.

Finally, Bloomington, Minnesota is the city that Livability voted into 15th place. Once again a growing arts and dining scene don't hurt Bloomington's profile.

And of course, when you're home to the Mall of America, the Toro Company, Ceridian, and more, you're destined to have a good employment scene, plus, Bloomington's outdoor recreation environment also got a big thumbs up too.
