Sioux Falls Woman Struck by Bullet While Sitting inside Her Home
People want to believe they're safe in their own homes, but some days, that's not even the case, no matter where they live.
An example of this happened early Tuesday morning, (October 15) in Sioux Falls when a woman was struck by a bullet that was fired at her home in the 300 block of North Fairfax Avenue.
Dakota News Now reports the incident occurred right before 1:00 AM on Tuesday. A 41-year-old woman was sitting inside her house when a series of shots were fired towards her home. One of the bullets fired struck her in the arm. Fortunately, her injury wasn't life-threatening.
Sioux Falls Shooting: Public Cooperation Key In Solving Case
Sioux Falls Police Public Information Officer Sam Clemens told Dakota News Now that investigators received reports of several unknown vehicles were seen cruising the neighborhood. However, no suspects or a motive for the shooting hasn't been determined yet.
Officers still don't know if Tuesday's incident was a random shooting, or if it was targeted.
According to Clemens, "One of our open homicides is a case where somebody fired into a home and struck a lady and killed her. So, this is one of the types of situations that we really ask the public to help us out.”
