There's nothing more exciting for kids than looking out on a sunny day and just imagining where the summer is going to take you. Swimming for sure. Hiking? You bet. Emergency room? Let's hope not!

That is just one reason that the Safety Village of South Dakota is hosting its Family Summer Safety Fair. It's coming up on Saturday, June 10, from 1 to 3 PM at Thunder Road, 201 N. Kiwanis Avenue. No pre-registration is needed.

Long, sunny, summer days mean a lot of activities, traveling, spending time in nature and so much more, which is why learning how to stay safe and healthy is so important.

What will we see at this Safety Fair?

At the Family Summer Safety Fair, there will be information from, and demonstrations by the Sioux Falls Police Department, Avera, Sioux Falls Fire Rescue, Patient Care, Metro 911, SDK Kennels, the National Weather Service, Outdoor Campus, SD EMS for Children, Xcel Energy, Sanford Trauma, SD Emergency Nurses Association, and Avera Careflight.

Some of the topics covered will be:

10 Most Dangerous Cities in South Dakota

Cities on the east and west side of the Missouri River have made the latest list of South Dakota's Most Dangerous Cities for 2021.

Roadsnacks recently released its most 'Dangerous Cities' list and here in The Mount Rushmore state there are a few surprises, especially at the top. To determine the most dangerous cities in the state, Roadsnacks looked at the FBI's report on the latest violent crime, along with property crime statistics.

And surprisingly, the town with the most murders per capita in the state has less than 3,000 residents. Take a look at the list below.
