Minnesota Yelloh formally known as Schwan's announced they are going out of business.

You will no longer see Schwan's / Yellow's iconic yellow trucks stopping in your neighborhood offering frozen foods door to door.

Yelloh, formerly known as Schwan's Home Delivery, announced its closure marking the end of a 72-year legacy in Minnesota's business.

The company, which began as a rural ice cream delivery service in 1952, had evolved into a major player in the frozen food industry.

Founded by Marvin Schwan in Marshall, Minnesota, the business grew from a single delivery truck to a nationwide operation.

In 2018, the company sold a majority stake to South Korean firm CJ CheilJedang, leading to a rebranding as Yelloh in 2022.

The decision to shut down came amid increasing competition from grocery delivery services and changing consumer habits.

Yelloh cited challenges in maintaining profitability in the face of rising operational costs and shifting market dynamics.

The closure affects thousands of employees across the country, particularly in Minnesota where the company has deep roots.

It also impacts rural communities that have long relied on the service for convenient access to frozen foods.

While the home delivery service is ending, Schwan's food manufacturing business continues to operate under separate ownership, producing frozen foods for retail and food service markets.

The demise of Yelloh marks the end of an era in Minnesota's business history, reflecting broader changes in the food delivery and retail landscapes.
