2023 Cure Kids Cancer' Radiothon Raises Over $300,000

The generosity of the Sioux Empire and our listeners never ceases to amaze us. Over the past two days, you helped our Cure Kids Cancer radio teams raise $312,614.26!

From all of us here at Results-Townsquare Media, the team at Sanford Children's Hospital, and our many sponsors, we want to send a BIG THANK YOU to the people of the Sioux Empire for their generosity during the 2023 Cure Kids Cancer Radiothon presented by Jerry's Auto Sales.

Because of big-hearted people just like you, our Cure Kids Cancer radio teams were able to raise $312,614.26 for the kids and families that are battling cancer.

During the two-day event, which began Thursday and ran through Friday, staff of 973 KKRC, KIKN-FM, KXRB, B102.7, and Hot 104.7 broadcast live for 12 hours each day. They carefully blended a mix of heart-tugging interviews with families of children undergoing treatment, or from those who have lost children to the disease, to bring home the pain and yes, the joy, that comes from fighting cancer. All the while asking residents of Sioux Falls to reach into their hearts and wallets to help support Sanford Children's Hospital.

Staff from Sanford Health helped put together and organize the event, which took place inside the Sanford Children's Hospital, or Castle. Volunteers of all ages and from around the area manned the phones and helped entertain family and friends during the events open house event on Friday.

Since the Sanford Children's Hospital does not charge any family for treatment, 100% of the money raised goes to supporting families with children undergoing cancer treatment at the facility.

However, the true success of the event was not in the money raised, but in the sight of so many former patients given the opportunity to once again be the happy, vibrant children again.

Result-Townsquare Media Sioux Falls is helping raise money to help fight childhood cancer during our annual Radiothon.

Sadly, more than 11,000 children will be diagnosed with various forms of cancer this year. Instead of being able to just be a kid, these children will be learning about the serious experiences of surgery, chemotherapy, radiation, and hospital or clinic visits.

The mission of Cure Kids Cancer is to help children's cancer centers, like the one at Sanford Children's Hospital in Sioux Falls, find life-saving treatments and eventually cures for children's cancer by raising funds and awareness.

The money raised through the 2023 Cure Kids Cancer Radiothon stays in the Sioux Falls area.
