South Dakota Dog Looking for Miracle While Waiting For New Home
As Sioux Falls continues to grow, so does the population of homeless animals in our community. Some pets have been waiting a few days inside shelters, waiting for their second chance. Others have spent almost a year just hoping for a new tomorrow.
One sweet pup from the Sioux Falls Area Humane Society that's currently waiting for her new South Dakota best friend is barely holding on. She really needs a hero.

Say hello to Ursa...she's only a year old. All she has known is life in a shelter. Ursa and many dogs at the Sioux Falls Area Humane Society aren't built for shelters. They are meant for love and life.
For Ursa, she has been waiting for her new "fur-ever" home at the Sioux Falls Area Humane Society for a total of 160 days. She's one of the few dogs that often get overlooked at the shelter.
All Ursa needs is a loving family that will accept her for all of her, like Ursa's playful and goofy side. Treats are a must for Ursa!
Ursa is a smart, silly, treat-loving hype girl with a flair for the dramatic and a heart that's starting to ache in the shelter. She's not meant to sit on the sidelines-she's a go-getter who thrives on attention, training, and being part of something special
Ideally, Ursa would thrive with a family with kids 11 years or older. She also likes other dogs, so maybe she could have other four-legged siblings!
Like staff at the Sioux Falls Area Humane Society have mentioned, Ursa is not meant for a life in a shelter. It's taking a huge toll on her. Learn more about how you can help Ursa here.
