Our four-legged friends are huge companions in our lives. They are truly part of the family, so it's always difficult to believe that some animals do not have a permanent home. Individuals abandon them for various reasons, but that does not mean our dogs, cats, or other pets don't deserve a second chance.
A shocking new announcement came from the Sioux Falls Area Humane Society late Monday afternoon, August 19th. The facility is at full capacity. The Sioux Falls Area Humane Society confirmed this news in a Facebook post.
Since the Sioux Falls Area Humane Society is full, they cannot accept any owner-surrendered animals at this time. But they are still willing to help animals in the Sioux Empire.
This decision will help ensure that all current residents receive the care and attention they need. However, we will continue to accept strays. If you find a stray animal in need, please bring them to the shelter.
The Sioux Falls Area Humane Society is actively updating its adoptable animals list on a weekly basis for all its animals, especially dogs.
