The FBI has identified remains found on the Crow Creek Indian Reservation in South Dakota as that of a 15-year-old girl. The FBI says the remains were discovered Oct. 19 and belong to Shauntae Hope Marks.

KSFY-TV reports:

Ms. Marks has been missing since May 4th 2012.  Positive identification was made through Bode Laboratories, a forensic laboratory associated with the National Center for Missing and exploited Children (NCMEC).

On October 19th, 2012, a body was found by residents of the Crow Creek Indian Reservation, in Fort Thompson, South Dakota.  The body was found in a wooded area on the reservation.  Initially, the body remains could not be identified.

The FBI and Bureau of Indian Affairs are continuing to investigate the death. The Crow Creek reservation is located in central South Dakota.
