One of the basic human body functions for a woman happens every 28 days whether you are ready for it or not. Whether you have the money to purchase the appropriate products or not. Whether you are homeless or not.

We hear about clothes, food, and toys drives, which are all very important, but feminine hygiene is something that doesn't get talked about a lot and many times overlooked.

When you are facing financial hardships, taking care of these basic needs can be tough.

On January 16 at 4:00 PM at Prairie Berry Eastbank there will be an event to donate feminine hygiene products. There will also be a couple speakers and a chance for people of the community to come together.

The event page on Facebook states:

Join us for the fifth consectutive year of the Feminine Hygiene Product Drive! In conjunction with Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service, bring pads and/ or panty liners for local homeless and low-income women. Items donated to Banquet Sioux Falls in Sioux Falls. There will be a short program and food and beverages available for purchase.

Stacey Tieszen with the Homeless Advisory Board of Minnehaha County will be one of the speakers.

If you are unable to be at the event, but would like to drop off some items, you may do so at the Downtown Sioux Falls Headquarters, 230 S Phillips inside of Shrivers Square. They are open 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday.
