A section of a busy Sioux Falls street will be closed for just over a week, beginning on September 30, and the City Public Works Department is advising caution in the work area and on the detours.

Beginning that day, 57th Street will be closed between Old Yankton Road and Old Yankton Circle as construction crews install a new sanitary sewer line across 57th.

The City says 57th Street traffic will be detoured by way of 49th Street, Western Avenue, Louise Avenue and Interstate 229, but traffic from both Old Yankton Road and Old Yankton Circle will still have access to 57th while the work is going on.

The City says 57th Street is expected to be open again by Tuesday, October 8.
