The Great Plains Zoo in Sioux Falls is an absolute gem. I could watch the animals for hours. The one thing we don't have at the GPZ is a Panda Display.
Great Plains Zoo CEO Elizabeth Whealy once told us that the cost to host Pandas is unbelievable expensive. A fee, in the thousands of dollars per monty, has to be paid to China for the honor.
The Toronto Zoo does have a panda display. When closed early on February 5th, 2014, due to the record-breaking snow fall, their giant panda Da Mao sure seemed to enjoy himself.
