Your town could be Capital for a Day in South Dakota! The Governor's office says Gov. Dennis Daugaard is inviting communities to apply to be Capital for a Day.

The program was begun by Daugaard's predecessor, Mike Rounds, and he's kept it going with the usual activities of a Main Street walk, business tours of the town (can't bring the governor to town without showing him around!) and a social hour.

The practice has also been for the state's Chief Executive to hold a roundtable with community leaders to talk about their city's needs.

Daugaard's office says interest communities should fill out an application and submit it to the Governor's Office.
