It's an annual tradition! Families flock to the W.H. Lyon Fairgrounds to witness the biggest display of fireworks in the Sioux Empire. But, it's not just about fireworks, it's a whole evening of family fun.

The free kids activities start at 5pm, followed by the Sioux Falls Municipal Band at 8pm and some new things for 2014 include the POET Ethanol Powered Van Guard Squadron Flyover before the fireworks.

There will be over 20 minutes of amazing fireworks set to a patriotic soundtrack that spans several generations of music weaved with patriotic audio clips of historic speeches about our nation from notable Americans.

Also new this year, there’s a raffle for a 55” LG TV that will happen right after the fireworks are finished. The winner does not need to be present to win, so you can buy a ticket in advance for $5.

Something else new this year is the WinThisOnline.com FREE Family Movie! This was added to help with the traffic flow after the fireworks show. Instead of waiting in your car, your family can enjoy The Lego Movie for free courtesy of a local website that gives away local prizes and offers discounts from local businesses.

The entire event is free, thanks to the sponsors that help make this event happen. Sponsors include Grand Falls Casino and Golf Resort, Dollar Loan Center, The International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, United Food & Commercial Workers, as well as Local 300 Plumbers & Pipefitters and POET.

If you would like to get involved, it’s not too late. The Jaycees are still looking for additional help for the event. Just call Travis Arneson at 605-360-3967.
