A man in China could become the next spokesperson for the Egg Council, that is after he gets sentenced for stealing 1,000 eggs from the factory where he was employed.

The 47-year-old guy was an overnight security guard who had been regarded as a dedicated, model employee who liked working night shifts because he didn't have anyone to go home to. That is until police caught him smuggling two suitcases full of eggs out of work one night.

Once in custody, Gu, (yup that's his name) admitted the thievery, which then led cops to search his home where they found over 1,000 eggs in the fridge, each one dated in black ink with an "eat by" date (very efficient huh?). They also found meat, soap, boxes of tissues, bottles of detergent and tons of other household items.

Gu admitted that almost everything in his abode had been stolen from his trusting employer. No word on what is going to happen to him, but as far as his job at the factory - Gu Gone!

Maybe they should sentence him to working an omelet station at a Chinese buffet restaurant until all the eggs are gone. And you've got to wonder what his cholesterol count is. His arteries must be as solid as cooked egg whites and that's no yolk!!

Take a look at Gu's fridge!
