Don't throw that old junk away, it could be worth some money.  Not everyone might see it that way, but to Mike Wolfe and Frank Fritz, two of the faces from the History Channel's 'American Pickers',  picking their way through other people's old junk is what they like to do best.  And they could be picking close to you!

Mike Wolfe and Frank Fritz from 'American Pickers', the TV series from the History Channel, will be picking their way into South Dakota and they are looking for places to find their next hidden treasures.  Show producer Thomas Giglio says that 'American Pickers' last visited South Dakota in 2011.

The team has visited many states with a goal to pick out interesting items, and South Dakota is one of the next locales on the list.  We scour the whole country.  We look and see what areas we haven't been to in a while.

With a mission to 'recycle America', collectors and pickers Mike Wolfe and Frank Fritz, travel around the country in a Ford Transit van, earning their living by buying, then restoring relics.  Wolfe's business, Antique Archeology, is based in Le Claire, Iowa with a second location in Nashville, Tennessee.

Show producer Thomas Giglio says that the show is hoping to be in South Dakota the second and third week of June, but want people to start submitting information about their collections as soon as possible.

Giglio says that there are a few guidelines to be chosen for the show.  For example, don't clean up your collection.  Wolfe and Fritz prefer the collections to be in their natural state, even if it's cluttered and disorganized.  Also, the collections of relics must be privately owned.  No stores or yard sales and nothing that is open to the public.

Some of the items that Wolfe and Fritz are interested in include old rodeo items, advertising signs, taxidermy, early Boy Scout items, pre-1950s western gear and old wind-up toys.  But Giglio says the history of the items is also important.

The exact air date of the South Dakota 'American Pickers' episodes isn't known yet, but Giglio said they should air this fall on the History Channel.
