28-year old Joshua Charles Hudson was on the run from authorities early this morning following a Yankton, South Dakota homicide, but police now have the murder suspect in custody.

Hudson is accused of killing his uncle, 46-year old Todd Hudson in Yankton around 7:30 Friday morning.

According to Tea Storm Chasers, police have not released any other details about the victim.

Hudson was arrested after the chase ended, in a corn field on a highway east of Jefferson, South Dakota.

The pursuit started in Sioux City.

Police say Hudson led them on a high speed chase through Sioux City.

They say he got on K-18 and headed north into South Dakota where stop sticks were put out.

"Subject ended up crossing back over into South Dakota here, on County Road 7. Ultimately, spikes were thrown and the subject to avoid the spikes lost control and went into the ditch. Subject is in custody. Everything will basically be turned back over to Yankton," said Union County Sheriff Dan Limoges.

Law enforcement from Sioux City, Plymouth County, Iowa, Union County, South Dakota and North Sioux City, South Dakota were among those involved in the chase and arrest of Hudson.

He's being held in jail in South Dakota.
