Yankton Man, 52, Killed in Single-Vehicle Crash

A Yankton man died, possibly over the weekend, in a one vehicle crash three miles north of Yankton on US Highway 81.

The South Dakota Highway Patrol says 52-year-old Thomas Paul Weidemann was found dead around Sunday noon.

Patrol officials that's when say a farmer from the area discovered the crash scene, but the crash is believed to have occurred "an unknown number of days" before the car was found.

Wiedemann's 2004 Honda Accord apparently left the southbound lane, rolled down a hillside and into a ravine that officials say is not easily seen from the highway.

Wiedemann was wearing his seat belt and was alone in the vehicle.
