Members of the Civil Air Patrol’s South Dakota Wing will again place holiday wreaths on veterans’ graves December 13 as part of the 2014 nationwide Wreaths Across America program.

Cadet color guards will present the colors at the ceremonies and will join with other organizations decorating veterans’ graves that Saturday.
The wing is seeking individuals, families, groups and businesses to help honor veterans laid to rest in South Dakota by sponsoring a holiday wreath. The goal is to decorate as many headstones as donations permit.
Wreath sponsorships are tax deductible, according to CAP. One wreath sponsorship is $15. A small amount from each sponsorship remains with the squadrons to help with training cadets in leadership, emergency services and aerospace education.
The South Dakota wing has squadrons in Sioux Falls, Rapid City, Brookings, Pierre, Spearfish and Custer.

The deadline for donations is Dec. 1 to allow sufficient time for shipping. If interested, click here.
