$100 is the going rate for a pair of the clear plastic jeans, so why wouldn't we pay $425 for jeans that come looking like they have mud stains on them?

I found some 400 ft. of Saran Plastic wrap going for $10 and some change online. You could get at least a couple see through pairs of pants out of one roll.

I am curious though where does a person wear see through pants?

Let's get back to the $425 jeans that appear to have rough miles on them, but the only thing rough about them is the price. Nordstrom's is banking someone out there has enough bank for these jeans.

I talk to people ever day who wear worn jeans, and put fresh mud on em every time they punch in.

The mud, the holes, and the mileage from countless hours of real hard work can't be bought.

It's a look that's earned.

You can't buy stressed clothes, put them on, and expect to feel like you put in the work or earned the respect that comes along with it.

If there really is a market out there for people who want to buy items that look like they work hard, maybe I should find a way to sell callouses for their hands or bottle grit for their hearts.

I'm sure selling $425 jeans that appear to be mud-stained is as much about the free publicity as it is about actually selling them.

Say you do sell a pair. Where do you wear $425 jeans that look like this?

Someone who knows about making real jeans real muddy is Mike Row from Dirty Jobs and he isn't a fan of this fad:

According to Foxnews.com

The "Barracuda Straight Leg Jeans" are described as coming with a "caked-on muddy coating." Social media has widely panned the jeans, with Dirty Jobs host Mike Rowe ranting on Facebook: "The Barracuda Straight Leg Jeans aren't pants. They're not even fashion. They're a costume for wealthy people who see work as ironic -- not iconic."

There is usually some push back and heavy eye rolls for people who are willing to dish out high dollars for worn out or hole filled jeans, but it is your money so whatever floats your boat.

And if you'd like a pre-worn boat with some holes in it to match your jeans hit me up, I got something to sell you.
