Winterfest of Wheels Continues
The 5th Annual Winterfest of Wheels continues this weekend at the Sioux Falls Convention Center!
The event is the brainchild of Karen and Dave Leisinger who have always been involved in the car community and like most of them, wanted a winter indoor car show. It was about the time they were in the process of putting the first car show together when their 10-month old niece was diagnosed with neuro-blastoma, a form of cancer. It was then they decided to call on their friends in the automotive world to get involved and donate the proceeds to Cure Kids Cancer at Sanford Children’s Hospital in Sioux Falls.
The first show filled barely half of the Convention Center, but the response was so great, they expanded the next year and every year since. And it’s not the same vehicles year after year either. Pretty much every vehicle in the show is new again this year!
Frank Fritz from A&E’s American Pickers was there this afternoon signing autographs and will be back again this evening after dinner from 7-9pm to do it again!
Plus there’s something for the entire family with the ‘Ditch Your Man Room’ and the ‘Little Cruisers’ area for the kids. There are raffles, a ton of vendors and lots to see. Tickets just $9, and again, all proceeds benefit sick kids in our area.
Hours are until 9pm Saturday night and 9-4 Sunday at the Sioux Falls Convention Center.
