Some years you trudge through winter and don't think much of it. But this year in Sioux Falls and around many parts it just seems different. This year it's seem like a longer trudge.

The other night after a Sioux Falls Skyforce Game at The Sanford Pentagon,  I took this picture with the Samsung Galaxy 5 I use courtesy of Sprint Sioux Falls. I couldn't help but feeling a bit sorry for the people that have to keep that walk cleared. I'm sure they do it over and over and over.

Maybe it's the fact I'm getting older. Maybe it's just been a tougher winter. Today on Twitter I see this.

City of Sioux Falls Retweeted NWS Sioux Falls

We've received 48" of snow this winter! But it's comforting to know it's not a record and only 39 days till spring.

Take a look at a standard counter in a kitchen. It's probably around 36 inches or so. Add on another foot and you're looking at the snow total we've already received in Sioux Falls. The good news is most of that early snow we picked up in November melted before we picked up more in January and February.

While we're at it, Vermillion, South Dakota and other area cities that picked up huge amounts of snow at one time, I'm whining about it, but not crying about it like I would if I had to go through what you've already done.

By the way, US Climate Data says ease up there JD. You're not that much ahead of your yearly average of 44 inches.

Still more than a month of Winter 2016 remaining. Come on Spring Come On!
