The odds of winning Powerball are about 175 million to 1. But one ticket sold in a Florida grocery story has defied the odds to take down the record $590.5 million jackpot!

Florida has more lottery winners than any other state (and more than a few more probably retire there as well)  Lottery officials say that due to the record jackpot, they were estimating that 80-percent of all winning combinations had been purchased, so they figured that jackpot would be his last night.

Make sure you check your numbers carefully though even if you weren't the big winner. We had a group from Beal Distributing here in Sioux Falls hit $1 million in Wednesday's drawning. Lottery officials reported 33 winning tickets for a $1,000,000 prize each were sold around 17 states, led by six tickets in New York. He said lotteries reported 2 winning tickets each for the $2,000,000 PowerPlay, one in New York and the other in South Carolina.

Saturday night's winning numbers were 10, 13, 14, 22 and 52, with a Powerball of 11.

The jackpot now gets reset to $40 million, with the instant cash option paying about $25 million. I could still have a lot of fun on that kind of money too.
