Wild Are First to Go Digital With Season Tickets
One day after the Minnesota Twins announced new self-serve beer stations at Target Field, the Minnesota Wild are jumping on the technology bandwagon; replacing paper tickets with digital cards for season ticket holders.
Starting next season, season ticket holders for the NHL team will receive a smart card, the size of a credit card, that contains all of their account data. This card will be used instead of traditional tickets, to get into Xcel Energy Center.
In a team press release, Wild Chief Operating Officer Matt Majka said:
The time is right to make this transition. Our fans have become accustomed to using the convenience of online and mobile technology in many other areas of their lives. This initiative helps ensure Wild tickets are the most trusted, convenient and environmentally-friendly we can provide to our customers.
With the move, the Wild becomes the first professional sports team in the Twin Cities market to offer comprehensive digital ticketing for Season Ticket Holders.
