The NFL is (finally) under way, and in the first part of the weekend we had a pair of really big performances—one by a rookie, and one by a veteran on his way back. Rookie Robert Griffin III put on quick a show Sunday afternoon, his first NFL performance: 320 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions. RG3 also rushed for 43 yards. His Redskins beat the heavily favored Saints, in New Orleans, 40-32.

Sunday night brought the return of Peyton Manning, who sat out the entire 2011-2012 season due to a neck injury. Now he's with a new team, and in his first game with the Broncos, he led the team over the Steelers, 31-19. Manning threw for 236 yards and two touchdowns with no interceptions.
