Linnea Bodenhamer of Sioux Falls is pretty sure she's living on the best named street corner in Sioux Falls.

Bodenhamer currently resides at the corner of Grinn and Barret. Grin and bear it. Get it?

Most people do, and quickly according to Bodenhamer. She says "It's super-fun to tell out-of-town friends how to find me."

Bodenhamer has lived in a condo at the corner of Grinn and Barret in Sioux Falls for four years now.

The intersection of Grinn and Barret is located in southwest Sioux Falls in the vicinity of West 26th Street and the Tea-Ellis Road.

A developer for the area named Bryan Wiseman of Wiseman Contracting came up with the street name in about 2006. According to Wiseman, the city called up and asked what I wanted to name the six streets in that area. The majority of the streets were named after his partners at the time such as, Shaw, Laverne Wipf and Mary Beth. But then Wiseman remembers it just popped into my head, how about: Grin and bear it? The rest is history.

The intersection of Grinn and Barret was a huge hit. Wiseman recalls many people requesting to live at that corner.

Mike Cooper, Director of Planning and Building Services for Sioux Falls says, "Street names for new development areas are typically provided by the developer and reviewed by city engineering to make sure there are no duplications or other conflicts with our street-naming policy."

There is actually a street-naming committee that can review requests for changing a street name, which then goes to the City Council for approval.

So if you've always wanted to live at the corner of Gift and Horse, Mountain and Molehill or maybe Smoke and Fire, here's your chance.

Time to get those creative juices flowing and submit your street name idea.
