What Do 25,214 Teddy Bears Look Like on a Hockey Rink?

You're not going to find a more rabid group of hockey fans on the planet than those North of the border in Canada.

Where else would fans pack an arena for a junior hockey game to take part in a teddy bear toss?

In Calgary Sunday night, it was the 20th Teddy Bear Toss game as the hometown Hitmen hosted the Moose Jaw Warriors, and when Calgary's Radel Fazleev lit the lamp, the toss was on.

...and on...

...and on.

In all 25,214 ended up on the ice, bringing the 20-year total to nearly 300,000 bears collected and to charities across Calgary and southern Alberta.

Here's the craziest part.  The 25,214 wasn't even a record haul.  That mark was set with 25,921 bears last year.

The teddy bear toss tradition has even make its way to Sioux Falls, where the Stampede had theirs last month.  Team officials are still working on a final count, but estimate several hundred bears were collected to be distributed to local charities.
