Even though total consumption of beer in the U.S. has fallen for the third straight year, there’s still quite a bit of chug-a-lugging going on.

Here’s a rundown of the states that drink the most beer:

10. Delaware – 34.3 gallons per person

9. Nebraska – 34.6 gallons per person

8. Texas – 34.6 gallons per person

7. Vermont – 34.7 gallons per person

6. Wisconsin – 36.2 gallons per person

5. Nevada – 36.5 gallons per person

4. South Dakota – 38.0 gallons per person

3. Montana - 40.6 gallons per person

2. North Dakota - 42.2 gallons per person

1. New Hampshire – 43.0 gallons per person (247WallSt.com)

I'd be willing to guess that my circle of friends help bring that average up during a calendar year, especially on holidays like Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Halloween, birthdays, bowling night, out seeing a band, watching football...OK, maybe it's not just holidays. So raise a glass! South Dakota is top 10 in something!
