Van Morrison has released a video for "Transformation," the second pre-release track made available from his upcoming Roll With the Punches LP.

Morrison's 37th studio effort is due to arrive in stores Sept. 22, and finds the veteran frontman focused on his longtime love affair with the blues. "From a very early age, I connected with the blues," he explains via press release. "The thing about the blues is you don't dissect it: You just do it. I've never over-analyzed what I do; I just do it."

Tackling a mixture of covers and originals with an assortment of regular collaborators and special guests — including Jeff Beck, who appears on "Transformation" — Morrison has said he took a "performance-oriented" approach to the material. "Each song is like a story and I’m performing that story," he added. "That’s been forgotten over years because people over-analyze things. I was a performer before I started writing songs, and I’ve always felt like that’s what I do."

That performance theme is reflected in the "Transformation" video, which consists of footage collected during Morrison's concert at London's Porchester Hall on July 11 — and he'll have plenty of chances to put it to the test throughout much of the remainder of the year.

Morrison's scheduled to embark on a round of tour dates surrounding Roll With the Punches' release, starting with a handful of appearances in North America during September and October. The following month, he's set to head to Europe for another leg of shows, wrapping up with a pair of dates in Belfast in early December.
