The Rolling Stones have unveiled the first video from their upcoming blues album, Blue & Lonesome. "Hate to See You Go," which you can watch above, is one of several songs originally made famous by Little Walter – including the title track.

They rounded out Blue & Lonesome with '50s-era deep cuts from the likes of Jimmy Reed, Howlin' Wolf and Magic Sam – timeless songs that usually can be found on singer Mick Jagger's iPod. “Sounds have changed,” Jagger told The New York Times in a new interview. “What makes you excited now is not the same. In music, everything’s different. But the blues still have something about them that’s really good. I love all kinds of music, and I still listen to the blues.”

This new album, set for release on Dec. 2, was recorded in a rush of inspiration last December at British Grove Studios, a West London space owned by Mark Knopfler of Dire Straits. The Rolling Stones had gathered there to work on new music but, finding themselves in an unfamiliar setting, fell back on a few blues favorites to get warmed up. Five songs emerged from that initial session, so they kept going.

Only later did it become obvious what was happening: their first studio effort since 2005's A Bigger Bang. “It was only at the end," Keith Richards said, "when we’d got 12 tracks and Don Was and I were talking together, and Mick was there and he was saying, ‘This is an album. You can’t chop this up.’”
