The Washington Warriors are on top of Class AA after defeating Mitchell 58-51 on Saturday night. The Warriors defeated Harrisburg, Sturgis, and Mitchell on their way to their third state AA championship (5th all time).

The Warriors were led by Kelsey Knecht's 21 points. Sydney Koel and Ellie Benson also added 10 each. Benson finished the night with a double-double. Off the bench, Sydney Arrington had nine points.

For Mitchell, Macy Miller led the way with 25 points. Miller set a tournament record for most points scored over three games in the championship rounds (former record 81), and also set a record for more points scored over three games in any combination of games (former record 86) with a total of 103 points.

Taylor Volesky added 18 points in the Mitchell loss.

Washington and Mitchell both end the year with a final record of 23-2.
