When I see a list about healthy eating, I rarely read it because I don't like a lot of healthy foods. These lists always want you to eat salmon or kale or some other food that makes be want to gag. I don't like fish, fruit and very few vegetables.

When I saw this new list about the foods to eat every day if you want to live forever, I thought, yeah right, it's probably a list with a bunch of funky foods I don't like.

I was surprised to see that seven of the eight foods on the list, I LIKE! That never happens! The website Thrillist asked 11 registered dietitians and spokespeople for the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, "What one food should I eat every day if I want to live a long healthy life?"

Here's the list of 8 Superfoods for a Long Life:

  1. Avocado (the one food on the list I don't like)
  2. Walnuts
  3. Beans
  4. Milk
  5. Peanuts
  6. Oatmeal
  7. Tea
  8. Almonds.
