The Sioux Falls Police Department is looking for more men and women who want to wear blue.

The PD is hiring, that according to Sioux Falls Police Chief Matt Burns. Those looking to join Sioux Falls finest would begin in February. Entrance exams to join the force will be held monthly, starting on October 24.

Burns says, "“We have an excellent department and are looking for new officers who will work with us to fulfill that mission."

The city of Sioux Falls has roughly 1,200 full-time employees, making it one of the top 10 employers in the city. The police department makes up a large part of that employee base. Nearly 20 percent of all city employees work for the Sioux Falls Police Department.

Being a police officer in today's social and political climate can be challenging yet rewarding for the right individual.

If you think you have what it takes to be in law enforcement, interested applicants can find requirements for the job and apply here. Qualified applicants will also be asked to complete a civil service exam.
