Thousands of people will be walking in Falls Park in Sioux Falls on Saturday.

The Eastern South Dakota "Heart Walk" is scheduled for Saturday, August 23rd, as more than 3000 people are expected to walk in the American Heart Association's premiere fundraising event.

Heart Walk Saturday will offer education about heart disease and stroke for the entire family, including Hands-Only CPR training. In addition, families will hear powerful stories from survivors who have firsthand knowledge of what it's like to fight for their lives.

The event will also include CPR demonstrations, inflatables, a balloon artist and more. A health festival will also take place before and after the walk.

The event is free and open to the public. All the festivities kick off at 8 that morning. The walk begins at 9:00 am, with participants having the option to take one of two walking routes: a one-mile or a three-mile path.

Have a heart and walk to help prevent heart disease in the Sioux Empire.
