Wal-Mart has announced it's closing 154 stores in the United States, including 4 Sam's Club, and another 200+ stores abroad, in an effort to re-structure it's portfolio.

Nearly 10,000 workers will be impacted in the U.S.

We have closed stores across several markets and we will continue reviewing our fleet in a disciplined way.” - CEO Doug McMillon

It's interesting to note that more than 95 percent of the closed U.S. stores are within 10 miles of another Wal-Mart store.

So, it begs the question (with the latest construction at 85th and Minnesota) did Sioux Falls really need a 4th Wal-Mart?
