If volunteering your time on July 4th to help put smiles on your friends' and neighbors' faces appeals to your soul and your sense of patriotism, the Helpline Center has some great options for you!

The Sioux Falls Jaycees are presenting their annual 4th of July Celebration at the W.H. Lyon Fairgrounds, but they need your help to make it really crackle! Volunteers are needed from 4 P.M. to Midnight doing everything from driving courtesy carts to directing traffic in the parking lot. You'll also be selling raffle tickets, helping to make cards and putting smiles on kids' faces by displaying your face-painting skills. If you can only volunteer for part of that time, that is just fine.

The Mayor's Fourth of July Parade & Picnic event is also in need of a great number of volunteers to make it a real celebration! For this festivity you'll be checking in people participating in the Free Fun Run, (which you can still register online for through July 1, 2015) greeting people and helping to serve food, drinks and desserts at the picnic. To volunteer call 605-367-8218 or get more info here.
