Many of us find it really convenient to pull out the debit card when we're buying something, but that convenience carries risk with it.

The Radio-Television-Digital News Association is reminding us of some places where it's really risky to use your bank card.

The RTDNA quotes a report from bankrate.com about the riskiest places to use it, and it really got me to thinking.

Bankrate.com says the riskiest places are: outdoor ATMs, restaurants, gas pumps and online. I'm sure it's not risky everywhere, but it can be.

Remember, if some crook has your debit card numbers, they can have direct access to your checking account.

With a credit card, meanwhile, the funds come from the card issuer and can be put back in the event of fraud.

I know, it's something else to worry about, but a little caution could keep you and your cash just a little safer.
