It's not a gold statue, red carpet, fashion designer affair for Hollywood's elite!  It's better.

The annual Shorty Awards have a Sioux Falls connection and our University of Sioux Falls.  The social networking of the University of Sioux Falls is getting recognition for a Facebook page that it started four years ago.

According to Pam Gohl, USF interim director of athletics, the Shorty Awards are a relatively new award, they've been around about six years.  The Shorty Awards honor the best of social media, recognizing the people and organizations producing real-time short form content across Twitter, Facebook, Tumblr, YouTube, Instagram, Vine, and the rest of the social Web.

"We've been entered as a nominee in the Best Facebook Page category for our coverage of our student-athletes and teams, and we’re very proud of being recognized.”

Gohl says kudos go to USF sports information coordinator Stephanie Pendrys and Paul Watley for their active and thoughtful curation on USF’s social media outlets.

Congratulations Cougars!
