The news is official, Bob Nielson is the new head football coach at the University of South Dakota.

Nielson becomes the 30th head coach in the programs history and replaces Joe Glenn who retired at the end of this past season.

Nielson previously was at Western Illinois last season in the same conference, the Missouri Valley as USD.

Prior to that, Nielson led Minnesota Duluth to NCAA Division II national championship in 2008 and followed it up with another one in 2010.
