If there were a picture of determination, grit, perseverance and fearlessness, it would be a photograph of Austin Schoppert-Coffee. This handsome little man with the ginger hair, freckles, infectious grin and indomitable spirit, personifies those qualities.

Austin contracted a rare form of bacterial meningitis when he was just three and doctors were forced to remove all of his limbs to save his life. He is now an active, thriving first-grader with a fierce streak of independence. All he needs is a home that will help him continue on the road to handi-capable.

This is a story where the term "it takes a village" certainly applies. The home is currently under construction in Tea, thanks to the gift of the lot the house sits on and contributions from many donors, but there is a way to go before it becomes Austin's home.
