Two Arrested After Early-Morning Pursuit in Sioux Falls
Two people are in custody after a pursuit early Monday in Sioux Falls.
Police say an officer noticed a vehicle swerving near Falls Park, and the officer also saw the driver acting erratically behind the wheel.
When the officer tried to stop the vehicle, it took off eastbound on Rice Street and eventually turned south and left the roadway in a wooded area, where police began a canine track.
Police say two people were arrested nearby.
Twenty-eight-year-old Richard L. Pounds of Sioux Falls was jailed for aggravated eluding, driving while suspended and moving violations. Alonna L. Weddell, a 21-year-old Sioux City, Iowa resident, was lodged for warrants.
