Starting as soon as the first snow flies, there are two reminders that I look forward to that give me the okay to start getting into the Christmas spirit...and both can be seen on TV.

It was just a few short weeks ago that I saw my first Christmas reminder.  I know I can officially start feeling the Christmas spirit when I see the Hershey Kisses, dressed in their holiday reds and greens and posing as hand bells, playing 'We Wish You A Merry Christmas'.  It's a simple commercial that began airing in 1989, and quickly was added to the Top 10 Best Christmas Commercials list.

And of course, Christmas wouldn't be Christmas without a trip to Christmasville, and this trip should be a memorable one as Rudolph celebrates a milestone.  I know he doesn't look a day over 2-years old, but Rudolph is turning 50 this year!

'Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer' is known as a stop-action animated feature that debuted in 1964 on NBC, but found a long-time home on CBS.  Based on the children's novel and the Gene Autry song that was made famous in 1949, 'Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer' is the longest running Christmas TV special of all.

Rudolph, Clarice, Hermey, Sam the Snowman, Yukon Cornelius and don't forget about Charlie-In-The Box, will all be making their encore presentation again tonight on CBS (KELO-TV at 7 PM CST).

It's a big night for Rudolph tonight!  Turning the 'Big 5-0' is definitely a milestone you will not want to miss.  Wait...you aren't familiar with the story?  To quote Sam the Snowman,

I don't know what we would have done without Rudolph to pull us through. Anyway - uh, Rudolph? Huh, could it be that some of you are not acquainted with the story of Rudolph?
