The traveling Vietnam Veteran’s wall is making its way to Sioux Falls this summer as local organizers are paying tribute to the 40th anniversary of the end of the Vietnam War.

Organizer David Hodgson of Beresford, an Iraqi Freedom Vet, was compelled to bring the wall to Sioux Falls to pay tribute to the Vietnam Veterans who did not necessarily have the same warm welcome he had when returning home.

The wall will be on display at the Sanford Sports Field August 5, 2015 to August 9, 2015, the same week as the Sturgis Rally and the Sioux Empire Fair. An escort ride of the wall into Sioux Falls takes place on August 5th where you can ride in with the wall and the display is ready for you to see August 6, 2015 to August 9, 2015.  Nearly 70 thousand saw the traveling wall last time it was in Sioux Falls in 2010.

It costs $20,000 to bring the wall to our city and about half of that amount has been raised.  If you'd like to help financially or find out more information, visit their website.
