The historic All saints school at 18th and Phillips has been kept vibrant by the transformation into a senior living home since 1995.

According to the Associated Press, "Touchmark at All Saints has a former 130-year-old boarding school as its main feature. It plans a 110,000-square-foot addition to include 31 memory-care units, 60 independent-living units, and a health and fitness center."

Touchmark at All Saints had requested permission to add onto the building, but the State Historic Preservation Office did not suggest approval to the City Council because of the height and overcrowding of the original historic building.

After Touchmark at All Saints made changes to the plan, based on suggestions by the SHPO and a neighborhood meeting, there were still concerns.

Several neighbors shared their thoughts which were mostly positive. Leslie Hobel Heinrich says she doesn’t like the idea of the additional growth.

The city approved Touchmark at All Saints to move forward with building the addition.
