I know the song "I Just Wanna Make Love to You" as a Classic Rock hit by the band Foghat. Their version of the song came out in 1972. I've been hearing it all my life, but I really connected with it because of the soundtracks for the movie Dazed and Confused.

I was talking about the Dazed soundtracks recently and that led me to do some internet research where I found that the song "I Just Wanna Make Love to You" is an old Blues song from the 50's. It was written by written by Willie Dixon and first recorded by Muddy Waters.

The song has been covered by lots of artists. Here are five of the best non-Foghat versions.

5.  The Smashing Pumpkins

The Pumpkins recorded this version live in 1995. It originally was a bonus track on The Aeroplane Flies High.

4. Adele

Adele sang this version with Jools Holland at his annual New Year's Eve show in 2008.

2. The Dead Weather

In 2010 the supergroup The Dead Weather released this epic live interpretation of the song as part of a melody with "No Hassle Night."

1. Etta James

Along with the Foghat version, this is probably the most well known cover of the song. James recorded the song for her 1961 debut album At Last!.
