The weekend is finally here! Looks like it's going to start off kinda warm and end up snowy and cold. Lucky for us there are a bunch of things you can do in and outdoors this weekend in the Sioux Empire. Here are just a few:

MASTERS OF MOTOWN…Friday night at 7:30pm at the Washington Pavilion.  A fully costumed and choreographed explosion from the Motown era.  

SIOUX EMPIRE HOLIDAY ARTS AND CRAFTS SHOW…Friday 3-8pm and Saturday 9am-5pm at the WH Lyon Fairgrounds Expo Building.  Admission is $3  for adults, 12 and under get in free.

TOUGH HERO COMPETITION…10am this Saturday at the west side Anytime Fitness, 26th and Marion Road.  It’s a 4-event strength competition with pushups, sit-ups, pull-ups and weight lifting.  100% of the entry fee goes to a military family in need.  Winners will receive prizes, free gym memberships and more.

PHIL BAKER CONCERT…A benefit for Children’s Care Hospital and School.  10:30am this Saturday at the Corn Palace in Mitchell.  Kids through age 15 attend free through community sponsors.  Tickets are $5 for age 16 and over.

ABBEY ROAD-LIVE TRIBUTE TO THE BEATLES…6:30pm this Saturday at the El Riad Shrine.  The band specializes in complete, start-to-finish album performances of masterpieces such as “Abbey Road”, “Magical Mystery Tour” and “Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Heart’s Club Band.” 

SIOUX FALLS STAMPEDE…7:05pm this Saturday at the Sioux Falls Arena.  Come watch the Stampede take on the Lincoln Stars as they battle breast cancer on a pink sheet of ice.  The Stampede is teaming up with Avera to raise money by raffling off PINK jerseys that will be worn by the Stampede during the game.

SIOUX FALLS ROLLER DOLLZ…6pm this Saturday at the Multicultural Center on 5th and Main.  It’s the home season closer.  Pirates vs. Ninjas.  All eligible Roller Dollz skaters will be on the track.

And a couple more things to check out next week:

STOMP…Tuesday and Wednesday at 7pm at the Washington Pavilion.  An 8-member international percussion troupe that uses everything from matchboxes, wooden poles, brooms, garbage cans and more to fill the stage with magnificent rhythms.  

CELEBRATING HOPE, A BENEFIT FOR FAMILY CONNECTION…Thursday from 6:00-8:00pm at the Holiday Inn City Center in downtown Sioux Falls.  Miss America, Laura Kaeppeler will host the event.  There will be entertainment, hors d’oeuvres and mocktails. Tickets are $40.  Family Connection is a non-profit agency that provides vital services to the families and children of incarcerated individuals.
