Plenty of Halloween related things to do this weekend in the Sioux Empire. Here are a few things going on around town:

SIOUX FALLS JAYCEES HAUNTED HOUSE…Located at the Fine Arts building at that WH Lyon Fairgrounds.  Admission is $8 or $6 with a canned good.  Military, police, fire and hospital personnel get a $2 discount with your employee I.D. Hours are: Friday and Saturday, 6:30pm-Midnight.  Sunday, – KIDS DAY – 1:00-3:00pm – For kids 10 and under.  Admission is $5 or $4 with canned food item.

SIOUX FALLS ZOMBIE WALK PRESENTS THE BOO-FALLS HALLOWEEN PARADE. Registration is from 11:00am-4:30pm at Skelly’s.  Parade begins at 5:00pm.  Starting at 7:00pm they'll be live music at Skelly’s.  Proceeds will benefit the State Theater.  Open to all boys and ghouls.  It’s not just for zombies anymore.

HARRISBURG HAUNTED HOUSE…this Friday and Saturday at the American Legion in Harrisburg.  6:00-7:00pm will be non-scary with the lights one.  8:00-9:00pm is scary.  Free will donations will be accepted to benefit the Run for Rita organization which raises money for families or individuals going through cancer or leukemia. 

The Great Plains ZOO BOO…this Friday, Saturday and Sunday. 5:30-8:30pm on Friday, 3:30-7:00pm on Saturday and Sunday at the Great Plains Zoo.  Hand-carved Jack-o-Lanterns illuminate the night pathways as you stroll through the Zoo grounds gathering treats. Tickets are $5 for zoo members and $6 for non-members.

MONSTER MASH AT YOGI BEAR CAMPGROUND…Saturday from 1:00-4:00pm.  Visits from Yogi Bear, wagon rides, jumping pillow, inflatables, corn maze and more.  Adults $8, Kids 11 and under $5, 3 and under free.  The Yogi Bear Campground is located at I-90 exit 402.

AUGUSTANA ORCHESTRA’S HOLIDAY HAUNTCERT…Sunday at 3:00pm at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, 909 W. 33rd Street.  The concert will feature “ghastly” orchestral works and spooky music including music from popular movies and musicals.  Tickets are $15 adults, $10 senior citizens, Free for those with an Augustana ID or any student K-12.

SIOUX FALLS STAMPEDE…Friday night at 7:05pm at the Sioux Falls Arena.  Cheer on the Stampede as they face their chief rivals, the Sioux City Musketeers. 

AUTUMN FESTIVAL…Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Over 300 vendors of handcrafted home décor and gifts.  Prizes awarded hourly, stage entertainment, food and fun.  11:00am-9:00pm Friday, 9:00am-7:00pm Saturday and 10:00am-5:00pm Sunday at the Sioux Falls Convention Center.  

2ND ANNUAL TASTE FOR THE TEAM…Saturday from 2:00-5:00pm at Calico Skies Vineyard and Winery in Inwood, IA.  A wine tasting and fundraiser for United Special Olympics.  Tickets are $20 at the door.  Live music by Billy Lurken.  

SIOUX FALLS STAMPEDE… Saturday at 7:05pm at the Sioux Falls Arena.  Cheer on the Stampede as they take on the Tri-City Storm.

SWAP MEET AND MOTORCYCLE SHOW…9:00am-5:00pm Saturday and 9:00am-4:00pm on Sunday at the Ramkota Exhibit Hall.  Buy, sell, trade.  A huge selection of parts.  New, used and antiques.  Bike show and a silent auction with proceeds going to Paulie from Hardtails who was killed in a motorcycle accident on August 9th.  Admission is $5 per day. DAKOTA SPIRIT SHOWDOWN…A silent basket auction and performances by 18 teams of Dakota Spirit.  100% of the fundraising proceeds go to student scholarships and team equipment.  Events are at Roosevelt High School.  Silent auction from 12:30-2:30 and the performances from 2:30-4:00pm.

 

And if you plan on raking leaves, the Leaf Drop Off sites are still open through November 23rd:

LEAF DROP OFF SITES OPEN…9am-5pm Monday through Saturday and Noon-5pm on Sundays.  There are 2 leaf and branch drop off sites; on the East side on East Chambers Street by the Household Hazardous Waste Facility and on the West side on North Lyon Blvd west of the Fairgrounds. $2 for a car, pickup, full-size SUV, van or 2-wheel trailers.
