Major League Baseball’s league championship series, a title fight and a clash of the AFC’s best teams highlight this weekend’s sports offerings. Here’s what to watch this weekend:

[All times Eastern.]

Friday, Oct. 19

NLCS Game 5 — San Francisco Giants at St. Louis Cardinals

Busch Stadium, St. Louis; 8:07 p.m. on Fox
With a 2 games to 1 edge in the National League Championship Series after Wednesday’s 3-1 win at home, the St. Louis Cardinals could potentially be in position to advance to their second consecutive World Series on Friday. Barry Zito is scheduled to start for the Giants, while Lance Lynn will take the mound for the Cardinals.

WNBA Finals Game 3 — Minnesota Lynx vs. Indiana Fever

Bankers Life Fieldhouse, Indianapolis; 8 p.m. on ESPN2
The Minnesota Lynx and Indiana Fever are tied at one game apiece in the best-of-five WNBA Finals. The series will shift to Indianapolis for two games starting Friday. The defending champion Lynx will need to win at least one game on the road to repeat in 2012. Tamika Catchings leads the Fever, while All-WNBA player Seimone Augustus drives Minnesota.

Saturday, Oct. 20

(6) LSU at (20) Texas A&M

Kyle Field, College Station, Tex. ; 12 p.m. on ESPN
Sixth-ranked LSU (6-1, SEC: 2-1) tries to maintain momentum after handing South Carolina its first loss last week. The Tigers must find a way to stop quarterback Johnny Manziel and an Aggies’ offense that put up 59 points in a win over a ranked Louisiana Tech team last week. Twentieth-ranked Texas A&M (5-1, SEC: 2-1) will try to confuse LSU quarterback Zach Mettenberger, who has struggled at times in 2012.

(9) South Carolina at (3) Florida

Ben Hill Griffin Stadium, Gainesville, Fla. ; 3:30 p.m. on CBS
Coming off its first loss of the season last week to LSU, ninth-ranked South Carolina (6-1, SEC: 4-1) doesn’t get a break. The Gamecocks hope star running back Marcus Lattimore will recover from a bruised hip fast enough to play against the Gators. Third-ranked Florida (6-0, SEC: 5-0) is led by quarterback Jeff Driskel, who must be mindful of South Carolina All-American candidate Jadeveon Clowney.

(4) Kansas St. at (17) West Virginia

Mountaineer Field, Morgantown, WV; 7 p.m. on Fox
If No. 17 West Virginia (5-1, Big 12: 2-1) hadn’t been upset by Texas Tech last week, this would have been a battle of Top 10 teams. The Mountaineers are led by quarterback Geno Smith on offense, but it’s their defense that has been shaky. Fourth-ranked Kansas St. (6-0, Big 12: 3-0) hopes that quarterback Collin Klein can pile up yardage to help give the Wildcats the victory.

Danny Garcia vs. Erik Morales

Barclay Center; Brooklyn, N.Y. 8 p.m. on Showtime
Undefeated junior welterweight champ Danny Garcia will fight challenger Erik Morales with the Ring, WBC and WBA titles at stake. The fight is a rematch of their March bout, which Garcia won by unanimous decision.

Sunday, Oct. 21

Baltimore Ravens at Houston Texans — 1 PM

Reliant Stadium, Houston; 1 p.m. on CBS
Baltimore (5-1) has been fueled by its offense instead of its defense thus far this season. Ravens’ quarterback Joe Flacco and running back Ray Rice will face a Texans’ defense that looked lost against the Packers last week. Running back Arian Foster leads the Houston (5-1) offense against a Baltimore defense that will be missing linebacker Ray Lewis and cornerback Lardarius Webb, both of whom are out for the season with injuries.

Hollywood Casino 400

Kansas Speedway, Kansas City, Kan.; 2:16 p.m. on ESPN
The Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup is down to its last five races. Driver Brad Keselowski is in first place in the Sprint Cup standings, while second-ranked Jimmie Johnson, who won this race in 2011, trails by just seven points. Third-ranked Denny Hamlin is 15 points out of the lead.

NLCS Game 6: St. Louis Cardinals at San Francisco Giants *

AT&T Park, San Francisco; 4:37 p.m.on Fox
If necessary, the Cardinals and Giants will play Game 6 of the NLCS in San Francisco on Sunday night. The scheduled starters — Chris Carpenter for St. Louis and Ryan Vogelsong for San Francisco — are a rematch of Game 2′s pitchers. * if necessary

Game 4 WNBA Finals — Minnesota Lynx vs. Indiana Fever

Bankers Life Fieldhouse, Indianapolis; 8 p.m. on ESPN2
The loser of Friday’s Game 3 will be facing elimination as the two best teams in the WNBA meet to decide a champion.

Pittsburgh Steelers at Cincinnati Bengals

Paul Brown Stadium, Cincinnati; 8:20 p.m. on NBC
Pittsburgh (2-3) operates its offense through quarterback Ben Roethlisberger, who must avoid a Bengals’ defense that ranks second in the league with 20 sacks. Receiver A.J. Green is the offensive star for Cincinnati (3-3). He must find ways to contribute against a Steelers’ pass defense that ranks fourth in the NFL.
