It seems like you can't turn around without another reality show popping up. There are so damn many Kardashian's, I'm starting to wonder if I'm one. Then add in a lot of the popular music of today. And again, I know I'm being the old grumpy guy, but the music OUR parents complained about (Led Zeppelin, Aerosmith, Rolling Stones, Eric Clapton, etc.) is STILL relevant. But some of the crap that's popular now like Justin Bieber, Nicki Minaj, One Direction, Ne Yo, Cee Lo, Yo Yo...OK so I made that last one up, but you get the idea. I'd really started to doubt what we were leaving for the younger generations and if they'd still respect the classics.

First comes my oldest granddaughter Hallie. She just turned 12, but as you can see by the picture above, she's definitely Papa's groovy little hippie girl. Her room is done in peace signs, she has a lot of 'peace' clothing (including a peace patchwork hoodie that her grandma and I found on a trip to Omaha. Her first concert? With me and grandma at RibFest in 2011 for Kenny Wayne Shepherd. She still can't stop singing "Blue On Black". She may still listen to Taylor Swift and Selena Gomez, but she mixes in some Jonny Lang and Aerosmith too!

Then today I got sent the video below of a little girl that MUST be related to me somehow. Or maybe it's proof of why our daughter is happy she's raising our granddaughters a couple of states away from grandpa, because I guarantee my girls would've been just like this little cutie!
