Star Wars fanatics will have to make some modifications to their costumes if they plan on dressing up to see the new movie.

Cinemark Theaters announced it is banning all masks, lightsabers and blasters over security concerns. The chain, which owns theaters in 41 states, including South Dakota, says,

Star Wars costumes are welcome. However, no face coverings, face paint or simulated weapons, including lightsabers/blasters, will be allowed in the building."

AMC theaters announced a similar ban on masks and blasters, but will bend a little by allowing lightsabers as long as they're turned off when the movie starts. Because that worked so well with phones.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens opens December 18th.
